3D prints dimensions variable

ReWilding! is a project which asks viewers to contemplate their impact on their local ecosystem. As we seek to restore a more natural and uncultivated state and repair our climate, what role does technology play? 3D prints and mixed media paintings draw inspiration from 3D scans. The hand drawn, painted and stitched elements emphasize the glitches that occur during the 3D scanning process and challenge the viewer to consider what is real and what is simulated. In a gallery installation, paintings are activated with AR enabling the viewer to engage with both the print and an animation a three dimensional digital dupe of a native plant. As climate change impacts our landscape, do we want to accept one that is a facsimile?
