What We Set Adrift

Ceramic with video projection – 15” x 12” x 9”

The project What We Set Adrift includes fired clay forms that resemble both icebergs from the Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon and ghosts. Melting glacier forms contain air thousands of years old, and as the glaciers break, the breath of our planet’s past is released seemingly from the void of the vessels. The drifting icebergs projected onto the phantom forms remind us that these disappearing glaciers are trace evidence of the shifting landscape in our Anthropocene era.
